Hello all,

Per my previous post I have started looking into FractInt. I have a few days now playing with it and I find it really interesting. Despite inherent limitations (256 colors, antialiasing, etc.) it still can produce some very interesting images.

I know the commands, however I'm looking for any tips and tricks to get more out of it (so not really the manual, a kind of a guide). Most of the links on the official site do not work anymore:

i can not help really, i for myself think of fractint as a totally outdated program, and i for myself use ultrafractal for formula writing, the free version of the program is fully enabled to edit formulas, only saving of images is disabled

we have several active fractint users, they might come in soon!

Thank you for your answer! I'm new to fractal generation so haven't really settled-in with software. Could you expand a bit on why you feel it is outdated: is there anything (apart from true color) that you can do with your current software that FractInt doesn't support? thank you again!

the main reason i dont like it is the user interface cheesy
the editing functionality and play with parameters is much more versatile with modern programs, because you have automated ui generation from formulas, and most of them feature animations right out of the box cheesy

Same here. Love the features, hate the user interface. For formula and coloring method source code editing I use Gnofract4D, which is just a little buggy and only works on Linux. Development of Gnofract4D unfortunately seems to be abandoned.
